Spring 2023 Conceret Series

I am excited to share the news with you that Westshore Singers is back in action. We have been working extra hard to prepare our first concert series in almost 4 years. Under the direction of Karen Lamb and with accompaniment by Ginny Parent, our choir is offering two concerts for your enjoyment. We will be performing on Sunday June 11th at 2:00, doors open at 1:30 for rush seating; and on Monday, June 12th at 7:00 pm, with doors open at 6:30 for rush seating. Our musical guests are Matt Lamb and Vivian Shannon.

I invite you to join us on a musical journey of familiar tunes that harken us back in time, that celebrate the wonders of the world in which we live, and remind us how joyous it is to gather and sing again. There is a little bit for everyone in this concert and we are looking forward to sharing it with you.

Please be sure to let me know how many tickets you would like, and to which of our concerts. You may also purchase your tickets at Tergesen’s in Gimli and from any choir member.

We are always looking to add new singers to our group, so please let me know if you would like to register for the fall season. We will have registration forms at the concerts for you to fill out, as well as having more information for you online on Facebook and the Westshore Singers website.

Fall 2022 Session On Hold

Hello Westshore Singers,

We previously mentioned that we would continue to monitor the COVID-19 information as it becomes available. To that end, the board has reviewed the current numbers, noting there have been outbreaks in our region, as well as increased numbers of active COVID-19 cases. With this in mind, and acknowledging there is expected to be an increase to the number of active cases this fall, it is with an abundance of caution that we are delaying the start of our return.

We will NOT begin rehearsal September 7th, and will advise everyone once we feel confident in returning to in person gatherings. We share in your enthusiasm to start singing together again, and hope that we can resume safely in the near future. We are not setting a new start date at this time, and we will share more information in the coming days and weeks about our plans.

In the meantime, please enjoy singing “solo” and stay safe and healthy.

Fall Term 2021

Dear Westshore Singers,

I hope you are well and have had a good summer in spite of the Covid restrictions. The Westshore Singers Board met on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of having a Fall 2021 choir session.  Although some restrictions have changed and gathering sizes are larger, the MB government has not made any changes to restrictions regarding community choirs.  Singing is still regarded as a high risk activity.  We all felt that a Fall session was not possible.

But we're a hopeful bunch so we decided to assess the situation again in October.  Karen has offered to direct some smaller group practices such as sectionals, women only and men only, when it is safe to gather, in preparation for the spring concert. Let's hope that the Delta variant doesn't turn everything upside down again as some people are predicting.

We'll be in touch after our October meeting.  Stay safe everyone.
